The Orderman Hardware setup is not directly supported by Fedelta Point of Sale. Please consult with you hardware provider for expert hardware support.
In order to get Orderman functioning on COM1 with Fedelta you will need to do the following:
- Install the Windows OCX driver on a windows device on the Fedelta Network to which the Base station\Router will be connected.
- Install the Fedelta Portable Host on the same computer.
- Design
a Orderman Menu card using the Menu Card Designer with scan codes 1-99
available. See Sending Orderman Menu to the device below when you are
satisfied with the design.
- Install the appropriate Orderman License
- Create
a Menucard in Fedelta from POS -> Orderman -> Menu Card Mappings
with the same name as the saved menucard (without extension). E.g.
Lunch.bly should be named Lunch in Fedelta.
- Create a Terminal Mapping from POS -> Orderman -> Terminal Mappings utlising the Menu Card created above.
- If
the group is other than "fedelta" (without quotes) you will need to
edit the user.pref in C:\Program Files\Fedelta\FPH\config\prefs
- Start the FPH console by running C:\Program Files\Fedelta\FPH\bin\run.bat.
You should get the following output at the end of the console:
INFO: Looking for au.com.afgsoftware.pos.catalogue.server.SellableService in [ fedelta ]
isLicensed() = true
isOnline() = true

At this stage you should have an Orderman Icon in the system tray
(bottom right hand corner or Windows). Clicking this icon will show you
various parameters of the connection. A successful connection will show
the Baud Rate at a constant 57600.
The Fedelta portable host is a thin client with cache and as such
needs to be restarted after any changes to Menucards, products, etc.
For production we would suggest putting the run_silent.bat into the
startup folder of windows (version 3.5.8 and above - request file from
Fedelta POS for earlier versions).
Sending the Menu Card to the Orderman
- From the Orderman Designer go to Tools -> Download
- Select the COM port of the base station and click 'Start'. Wait for a 'Connected' status.
- Turn off the Orderman,
- Hold the touchcreen and the and power together until the Calibration screen turns up. Then release.
- Press the power button. This will take you to the main menu.
- Press the Max or Don button (below the screen on the right) and then the power button in succession to enter the extended menu.
- Select Update from this menu. The device should go through the update process.
- Restart the device.
