Recently, your Fedelta Point of Sale software was upgraded with a host of improvements and new features. One of these new features is Fedelta’s FREE automatic Cloud Backup service.
Hacking and crypto-viruses, like the recent spate of international attacks, can have a harmful impact on businesses. Fedelta understands this and has taken steps toward assisting our customers to be adequately protected. The cloud backup feature allows a copy of your entire system to be taken regularly and stored on the Fedelta Cloud.
This will not replace your own internal backup regime, as situations such as internet outages will prevent this service from operating. As such, you must continue to backup and maintain your own data. This service will simply be an additional backup and an added layer of security for your business. Your data will be stored on an industry leading cloud storage platform and is only accessible by Fedelta via SSL Endpoints.
Your internet connection requirements will need to be determined based on the size of your database at any given time. Below are some examples of upload speed and database size against the amount of time likely to complete the backup.
- 5Mbps upload speed -10GB Database – 11 hours
- 5Mbps upload speed- 1GB Database – 1 hour
- 1Mbps upload speed- 1GB Database – 5 hours (this is what most customers currently have)
If at any time the above conditions are not met, a failure of the backup or an out of date database backup may occur. Fedelta will not be held responsible for any issue that may occur as a result of conditions not being met.
As per the Fedelta terms and conditions of sale, customers are responsible for ensuring regular backups occur (scheduled or not scheduled) and the secure storage of backups to an offsite location. Fedelta is not liable for any loss of data or related damage (including, without limitation, damage for loss of business or loss of profits) arising directly or indirectly.
As long as you maintain a valid Support & Maintenance Agreement with Fedelta, there is no cost involved for this extra service, except where data retrieval and/or restoration is required.
